You Are Beautiful


Before the Nike Women 10k on Sunday at NTC Lincoln Park, there was a Q&A with Shawn Johnson and Jeanette Jenkins. One of the questions a fellow event attendee/runner asked Jeanette was "What is one exercise we aren't doing now that we should be doing."

Jeanette response was immediate and simple, and it completely spoke to me. 

"Look in the mirror every day and remember how amazing and beautiful you are." 

Amen.

I think it caught some people off guard, but I agree that it is one of the single most important things you should do every day.

It doesn't matter how big, little, fast, slow, strong or weak you are, fully realizing how amazing you are is so powerful to your confidence, energy, and life. It's the same idea Operation Beautiful strives to spread, and learning to realize it myself each and every day is one of the biggest lessons I've learned over the past few years.

So tomorrow morning, heck even right now, go look in the mirror and remember how amazing and beautiful you are. Because you are.

  1. So true! I used Operation Beautiful and the sticky note project in a guidance lesson at a high school a few weeks ago. Not only telling/reminding yourself of your worth & beauty but telling other is vital in today's often negative and hate filled world. The student's
